This extensive gallery was opened in 1985 and boasts a total of 11 exhibition spaces, housing some 8,000 decorative art pieces dating from between 1600 to 1830. Highlights at Williamsburg's DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum include one of the world's largest collections of historical US and British furniture, and the biggest collection of British pottery outside of the UK.

A highly respected art museum located on the William and Mary Campus, Williamsburg's Muscarelle Museum of Art is home to a fine collection of American and British portraits and Native American pottery. In total, the collection boasts more than 3,000 works, a collection kicked off by the Earl of Burlington when he first donated a painting in 1732.
